More than 800 meters of bamboo steps and surrounded by a thick mangrove forest, makes the Bakhawan Eco-park the largest mangrove reforestation project in the country. We took a sidetrip to this place during the Ati-Atihan festival held in Aklan earlier this month. Near the entrance, there was a map of the mangrove forest and along it, a caption reads "Love comes along the rain". Yeah, this place is pretty romantic and had that slight aura of horror depends on where you look at it. Amid squeaking sounds while walking at the end of the trail, one will be greeted by a wonderful image of the open sea.
